A Sadist is defined as Someone who gets psychological pleasure from inflicting pain on someone who enjoys it. Masochism is defined as Sexual pleasure derived from pain inflicted on one-self from another individual. This term is reflective of the term masochist which is defined as a person who enjoys recieving pain. It is quite possible for a person to be masochistic without being submissive, and to be masochistic without being masochistic. It is also possible to be a masochist AND a sadist.
